Salma Hayek Responds to Backlash Over Conversation With Jessica Williams About Race

Salma Hayek is in hot water over a few comments she made at Sundance Film Festival.

MORE: Watch Salma Hayek Opens Up About Why the Way Women are Viewed Needs to Change

The Mexicana attended a luncheon that celebrated women in film, when the conversation took a left turn after race and privilege were brought up. Hayek spoke up and told the other women at the table to "be careful that we don't fall into victimization." Terms of Endearment actress Shirley MacLaine put her two cents in and begged women to "find the democracy inside" and explore their "core identity." Jessica Williams, a former Daily Show correspondent, stepped in and asked McLaine, "What if you are person of color, or a transgendered person who- just from how you look- you already are in conflict?," LA Times reports.

McLaine responded, "Right, but change your point of view. Change your point of view of being victimized. I'm saying: Find the democracy inside."

Hayek then chimed in and asked Williams, "Who are you when you're not black and you're not a woman? Who are you and what have you got to give?"

While we love Hayek and the way that she has continued to stand up for women in Hollywood, we don't exactly understand what she was trying to say when she asked Williams this. As a Latina who immigrated from Mexico — two things that are hot buttons in this political climate — Hayek should understand the struggle that Williams faces being not only black, but a woman as well.

Williams responded, "A lot. But some days, I'm just black, and I'm just a woman. Like, it's not my choice. I know who I am. I know I'm Jessica, and I'm the hottest bitch on the planet I know." She also went on to clap back at say, "I also feel like the word 'victim' — I feel like it has bothered me. When I talk about feminism, sometimes I feel like being a black woman is cast aside. I always feel like I'm warring with my womanhood and wanting the world to be better, and with my blackness — which is the opposite of whiteness."

Hayek jumped in, “No, no, no. Take the time to investigate. That’s the trap! ...There is so much more.”

Others chimed into the conversation leaving Hayek not being able to fully express her thoughts. She has since put out a statement on her Instagram about the whole thing.... source

Celebrity Big Brother: Bianca Gascoigne reveals how she REALLY feels about surprise Jamie O'Hara eviction ahead of final

CELEBRITY Big Brother star Bianca Gascoigne has opened up about house romance Jamie O’Hara’s shocking eviction from the house.

The model was left gobsmacked in last night’s episode as Jamie O'Hara was removed from the house in a surprise eviction.

Celebrity Big Brother viewers had been voting to evict since Friday night, with Jamie receiving the fewest votes and being led out in the Judgement Weekend task.

As Jamie left the house, his housemates gasped while others believed that it was a trick and that he was actually still on the show.

Speaking in the Diary Room today, Bianca revealed how she really felt about her beau leaving the house for good ahead of the final.

She told Big Brother: “Obviously I know where he is usually in the house.
“Even him just walking past, grabbing my shoulders. It’s just weird that that’s not happened today.

Grammys 2016 Forecast: The Revenge of Justin Bieber

Look for Justin Bieber to finally win his first Grammy this year, five years after he was defeated for Best New Artist in one of the biggest upsets in Grammy history. The 2011 award went to the respected but comparatively little-known jazz artist Esperanza Spalding.

Bieber is the frontrunner to win Best Dance Recording for his featured role on “Where Are Ü Now,” the top 10 hit by Skrillex and Diplo that kickstarted his comeback.

Bieber’s subsequent solo smash, “What Do You Mean?” (which became his first #1 hit on Billboard’s Hot 100), was passed over in the nominations. It was eligible for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance, but missed out in all three categories. Bieber’s album, Purpose, and his chart-busting follow-up hits, “Sorry” and “Love Yourself,” were released after the close of the eligibility period on Sept. 30, but will be eligible next year.

Two of the other 2010 Best New Artist also-rans are also nominated this year. Drake is up for five awards, including Best Rap Album for If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late. (He won that award three years ago for Take Care.) Florence + The Machine are nominated for three awards, including Best Pop Vocal Album for How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful. (Lead singer Florence Welch is up for a fourth award for co-writing “What Kind of Man,” a Best Rock Song nominee.)

Cameron Vs Katie
It isn't often that Cameron Diaz truly embraces the glam factor, but she certainly hit all the right style notes at the Seville premiere of new film Knight & Day. With a gorgeous California tan as a base, Cameron opted for an elegant but sexy ruched one-shoulder dress by Lanvin and gold chain heels.
But how did fashion rival Katie Holmes fair?
